Client + Challenge
Aurelius is a user research and insights platform whose tools help users add, tag, organize, search and make sense of research notes and feedback in order to inform new designs, products and features.
Aurelius is looking to extend the functionality of its platform by introducing "Collections," which allows users to share a group of notes, key insights, tags, and/or documents with others without having to use an external application such as PowerPoint or Keynote. Aurelius wanted a prototype of this new functionality that fits within their current site organization and can be developed within 160 hours.
Competitive Audit, Journey Mapping, Rapid Prototyping, Kano Analysis
I prototyped the collections feature using sketch, including features found most desirable by potential users that could be developed within the given time frame. These features included: efficient report generation and editing, time stamped changes, and an easy export to PDF option.
I started my process by looking at the features of competitor's sites and applications such as PowerPoint, Google Docs, and Quip.
Then using proto-personas, I created a journey map of a current Aurelius user's experience.
Rapid Prototyping + Time Estimation of Product Features
User Feedback of Concept Designs
As a team, we voted on the design features that we wanted user feedback on the most. We then sent the design features with the most votes to users for feedback in a google form. Users were asked how they felt if a feature was both included in the collection tool and left out of the collection tool. We then used our findings to conduct a Kano Analysis.
Final Sketches and Digitized Design
Moving forward, I would create an interactive prototype of the wireframes in InVision to test on users and evaluate the effectiveness of features.
